A duo that marries the shining bravura of the operatic stage and the intellectual brilliance of the concert hall, mezzo-soprano BLYTHE GAISSERT and double bassist LOUIS LEVITT collaborate on an intimate program of works for voice and bass. Together, they trace a line from Anne Boleyn to Kate Bush—by way of David Anderson, Gilda Lyons, Jessica Meyer, Henry Purcell, and François Rabbath— exploring the "bright & shiny," from surface-level pleasures to the darker cost of their pursuit.
