The trio will premiere Gene Pritsker's composition 'Elements' as well as other improvisation and aleatoric inspired music.

'The Other Elements' takes its name from this paragraph from Guy de Maupassant's 'Le Horla et Autres Contes Fantastiques':

"Why not other elements besides fire, air, earth and water? There are four of them, just four, those foster parents of beings! What a pity! Why aren't there forty elements instead, or four hundred, or four thousand? How paltry everything is, how miserly, how wretched! Stingily given, aridly invented, heavily made!"

The groups focus point is improvisation and various aleatoric concepts. Each composition they perform feature these "other elements" in music, giving these composers, orchestral and jazz musicians a chance to play in a free environment with each other, unencumbered from the various conventions that each of these musicians usually performs in.
