Violinist Jennifer Koh has rewritten the boundaries of violin music over the course of her heralded career, performing classics in new and different ways, while also building a new repertoire through her endlessly inventive commissioning projects. Alone Together is one such project, born out of the early days of the pandemic when Jenny hired numerous composers to write solo pieces for her that she could livestream from her home. The project grew from there, and has come to offer a powerful portrait of creativity and resilience in the face of challenge.
For this very special opening night of The Cave Sessions, Jenny will present a series of young performers playing works from the project, interspersed with conversation about the different pieces and her overall vision.
Co-presented by Concert Artists Guild and Death of Classical.
